Water treatment systems for hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities
For an optimal healing process, water is crucial. Even the slightest contamination can have ultimately disastrous effects on public health. Various applications, including the sterilization of medical instruments, hemodialysis, or the pharmacy, require their own specific high quality that meets, for example, pharmacopoeia standards. Below are the main applications for which Wairtec can deploy its equipment.
Sterilization
An autoclave ensures the disinfection of medical instruments. To prepare steam, the supply water is treated using the reverse osmosis process. Wairtec supplies reverse osmosis systems that are designed and built in-house to prepare the feed water for the autoclaves.

WFI (water for injection)
Water used, among other things, for administering injections into the human body must meet high standards. The final quality of this water is defined according to pharmacopoeia standards. These standards specify, among other things, the desired pH value, the maximum salt concentration in the water, and the absence of bacteria and pyrogens. Wairtec supplies equipment that ensures the water meets the highest standards.

Pharmacy
The pharmacist prepares medications daily (ointments, eye and nose drops, etc.) using water. This requires a reliable high water quality that is defined in, among other things, pharmacopoeia standards. Decentralized, the water in the pharmacy is further purified to meet the highest quality standards. Wairtec supplies systems for the central production of demineralized water, which is delivered to various points of use, such as the pharmacy. This demineralized water is then further treated by a small system to achieve the required quality.
Hemodialysis
Pure water helps to remove waste products directly from the human body through the blood via an artificial kidney. The water is in direct contact with the human body. The technology has advanced to the point where all necessary procedures (dialysis and administration of a substitution fluid) can be carried out in-line in one step. This requires a very high level of reliability and purity of the water used for dialysis. Wairtec provides the necessary pre-treatment systems to ensure the water is suitable for use in a hemodialysis system.
